FOUND Returns to Medaille

One of the events that has been sponsored by the Scholars Program at Medaille for the past couple years is a presentation by FOUND Magazine. Tuesday night, FOUND returned to Medaille for the fourth consecutive year with the “There Goes the Neighborhood Tour 2007.” Last year, as a freshman in the Scholar’s Program, I was required to attend. I had so much fun last year that I decided to voluntarily spend my night with Davy and Peter Rothbart, the brother duo responsible for the making of FOUND.

FOUND is a collection of found literature from all over the country and the world. Love notes found in the hallway, to-do lists found on the streets, shopping lists found in a grocery store… anything goes when it comes to FOUND. It may not sound entertaining, but the things that are sent to these guys turn out to be hilarious. Davy begins the show with readings of some classic and new finds, and Peter performs original songs that he composes based on some of the favorite finds, including “The Booty Don’t Stop,” a track off of the ever-famous “Booty Tape” found by a student on his way home from school.

The lecture hall was filled with Medaille students and their family and friends to view the show which is becoming increasingly popular on campus. FOUND’s stop at Medaille was the kick-off date for the 2007 tour, during which they will be traveling to 65 cities in 38 states over the course of 3 months. A good time was had by all, as the audience spent more time laughing than not. If they return next year, I will be in the audience once more, because it’s a show that you just can’t miss!
