The End is Near…

The return from Thanksgiving break signals that for fall semester, we are finally in the home stretch. As appealing as Winter Break may sound, however, there will be a very stressful two or three weeks before students can get to a relaxing month off. All of my professors have been discussing in class our final exams, projects, and papers. On top of this, it’s production week for the Perspective, so things are getting hectic. I am probably joined by other students in thinking to myself, ‘there’s only two more weeks to make it through, then you’ll get a break from deadlines.’ The bottom line is that the end is in sight - there’s just a lottttt of work in the foreground of that sight.

Not that Winter Break is really any much better than having some homework now and then. When I go home I have plenty of work waiting for me there, too. I don’t have a job while I’m at school, but over summers and month-long breaks like Winter Break, my employer lets me come back to work full-time and make a couple pay checks. I’m thankful, since I’m sure everyone can understand that every paycheck makes a difference around Christmastime. Of course, I’m also a little disappointed, since I could really use some relaxing, rather than a 40 hour work week for the next month. I guess sometimes you just have to take what you can get. Either way, a month away from classes will do any student good.
