A Snow-filled Start

Despite all the white that we see outside today, 8:00 this morning marked the beginning of Spring Semester. I’m sure I’m not alone in hoping that it will actually start to look like spring much sooner than later. Walking to class today was quite the haul, no matter how many layers you were wearing.

This semester, I have two classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My first class is at 9:45. It is my Honors course, Creative Expression. I think it should be a lot of fun, because it seems different from most other classes that I’ve taken. We are going to be looking into subversive art, in the form of films, literature, songs, and more. I will admit that I am a little nervous, because I’m not the most creative or artistic person in the world… but with assignments like coming up with your own rap and drawing graffiti, I’d like to think I could be capable of mustering up something worthy of an A.

My second class is at 11:10. It is Child Development, which should be interesting. I absolutely love kids, and look forward to having plenty of my own in the future. I’m hoping that I’ll learn some things that might help me when that time comes. In the course, we are going to have to do multiple book reports, and I’m looking forward to it. “A Child Called It” is on the list of books to choose from, and I have been wanting to read that book since about the eighth grade. Now I will finally get the chance, no excuses.

Newspaper meetings have been moved to Tuesday nights, so that’s what I’ll be doing in a couple hours. I’m excited because we are going to be talking about the brand new magazine that will be debuting this semester, as well as the first edition of the newspaper. After that, I think I will be very excited to relax for the night. Luckily, I haven’t been assigned any homework… yet.
