Never-ending Work

This semester has only just begun, but it has proven to be a busy one already. It has been difficult for me to adjust to my new schedule, which consists of many more afternoon classes than I have been used to. I prefer taking morning classes, and have actually been done with class by 12:30 every day for the past two semesters. This semester, my Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes hardly even begin until 1:30. I guess it will take some getting used to.

This week, my volunteer group for Leadership is beginning a fundraiser to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club. We are going to be selling Hershey kisses, conversation hearts, and pop rocks for Valentine’s Day. Students will be able to purchase them for other students and we will deliver them on February 14. The fundraiser that we tried last semester didn’t go so well, so we’re hoping for a much better turn out, and I think it’s very possible.

It’s also production week for the newspaper. Because of the day off last Wednesday, things are about a day behind. The power outage made things difficult, as I’m sure you can imagine. This edition I am starting to do more layout than I’ve done before and I’m excited about it. Hopefully I can finish my pages tomorrow, because there is plenty of other work for me to do once I finish them. For some reason, there’s always more work to be done…
